Sensor Detector Module TCS3200 for Color Recognition


The TCS3200 serves as a programmable sensor for converting color into frequency. It incorporates a single monolithic CMOS integrated circuit housing a customizable silicon photodiode and a current-to-frequency converter. Its output generates a square wave (50% duty cycle) with a frequency directly linked to light intensity.

Direct interfacing with a microcontroller is facilitated through digital inputs and outputs. The full-scale output frequency can be adjusted using one of three preset values. Enclosed in a compact 8-SOIC package, the sensor operates within a temperature range of -40°C to +85°C.
